MacLellan wins £1m a year contract at Inland Revenue

Integrated service provider MacLellan International has been awarded a second contract at the new Castle Meadow campus of the Inland Revenue. The new three-year contract worth in excess of £1m a year and won in competitive tender against the incumbent provider Serco, comes less than six months after MacLellan secured a two-year agreement to provide cleaning and associated services at the Revenue’s offices.

MacLellan will provide a range of administrative support services, including internal delivery and collection of mail, typing pool, assigned secretaries to senior management, switchboard services and campus-wide reprographic services. The contract begins next month and around 100 staff will transfer to MacLellan under TUPE.

Commenting on the new contract, MacLellan International MD John Ellis said: "We are delighted to be taking on additional business in the public sector and particularly in the Inland Revenue. The Castle Meadow campus is of great importance to the Inland Revenue and it says much about MacLellan that this contract has been awarded to us. The professional approach of our staff and the fact that we identified a number of areas in which the innovative use of technology could both improve service delivery and reduce costs, adds value to the customer’s business."

Earlier this year Haden MacLellan Holdings sold its Industrial Services Division to AIM listed Jordec Group for £15.35m. The businesses have been integrated and renamed MacLellan Group plc. (see News story)
