MacLellan's service business reversed into Jordec

Haden MacLellan Holdings is to sell its Industrial Services Division to AIM listed Jordec Group for £15.35m. The businesses will be integrated and renamed MacLellan Group plc. The Industrial Services Division includes MacLellan International, which won the FM contract for Bluewater just over a year ago. MacLellan International MD John Ellis (pictured left) will join the board of MacLellan Group as Executive Director for FM Services.

MacLellan International, together with MacLellan Engineering Services, generated turnover and operating profit before exceptional items of £61.5 million and £1.5 million respectively last year. Haden MacLellan Holdings says the disposal represents the final significant stage in the transformation of the Group, which will now focus primarily on the supply of fasteners and related products to industry.

John Ellis described the deal as exceptional: "The FM business is now part of a company whose core activity is service. There are significant synergies and the outlook is very positive."

Jordec Group is a holding company for engineering and service businesses, including Jordan Engineering UK Limited, Jordan Fabrications Limited, Corporate Clean Limited and two Flags Aviation Services Limited. Jordec's clients are in the automotive, nuclear, aviation and petrochemicals industries and increasingly in general business.

ISD's US arm, which has annual turnover of approximately £10m is not included in this deal but will be disposed of in due course.
