Good practice in health and safety

The Health & Safety Executive is looking for small or large organisations with 'good practice' policies for employee involvement to participate in what will eventually be an HSE publication on the subject.

The HSE requests that companies provide employees involvement case studies to use as background material for the report. Norman Byrom, from the HSE's Operation Unit, which is leading the search, explained exactly what the HSE is looking for:

"We are interested in examples of effective employee involvement in health and safety from all employment sectors, including small and medium size enterprises and are particularly keen to learn of experience in organisations which do not have all their employees 'under one roof'.

"We would also like to hear from organisations which have contractor or agency staff on their premises and have actively involved them in health and safety."

If you are interested in participating in this study, get in touch before the end of September 1999: Norman Byrom HSE Operations Unit Daniel House Trinity Road Bootle Merseyside L20 7RH Or e-mail: Norman.Byrom@hse.gov.uk
