Comax results

Specialist outsourcing company Comax, recently acquired by Amey, reported a 51% increase in operating profit to £12.1m on turnover up 41% at £211.4m.

Chief Executive Graham Love, announcing figures for the company's second year of trading, said, "Our success has been a team effort, resulting from effective partnership between all our stakeholders, particularly our staff, our customers and our suppliers."

According to Love, acquisitions have reduced Comax's reliance on DERA business as income from other sources grew to 16%. On completion of the sale Comax and its management team will become part of Amey's Business Process Outsourcing Division although it will retain its brand name.

  • Major General John Stokoe, former Deputy Commander in Chief Land Command has joined Comax as senior defence advisor.
