
Started out as a school teacher, working in secondary schools including inner city multi-cultural. Loved it. Seconded to The Newspaper Society as part of preparation for Deputy Headship but stayed.
Became Head of Training and a member of the National Council for the Training of Journalists Board.
On to Chief Executive of the Print and Graphic Communication National Training Organisation and then Asset Skills.

Once came second at Epsom (orienteering, not horse racing). Described by the Coventry Evening Telegraph as a future international athlete.
