James Gates, General Manager - Programme Management Limited

Having gained an Economics degree from Aberystwyth University, James then studied at the College of Law for the common professional exam. In 1999 he joined a management consultancy company and began his voyage to facilities management. A diverse set of projects within manufacturing, retail and investment banking led him to his next role at Deutsche Bank based in Frankfurt. After working for a number of years as a project manager on business process reengineering, IT solutions and data migration projects, it was time to come home.

On his return, James bought into a facilities management company specialising in the soft services but was quick to realise the need to branch out. Through contract enhancements, new business acquisitions and partnering hard services providers, the company turnover increased fivefold within five years.

In 2009 James and his business partner sold up after a highly successful and lucrative eight years of working together. After a short career break, James was fortunate to meet the directors of Programme Management Limited, a young, dynamic facilities management and project management company based at St. Pauls, London. Focusing on business development, James is now looking to build relationships with FM professionals to advise, assist and facilitate the difficult task of procuring the right service provider.
