Cleaning Innovation & Savings From A Single Supplier

Company: JohnsonDiversey

JohnsonDiversey offers a complete range of products, tools and services that allows facilities managers to source everything they need from the world’s largest commercial cleaning, sanitation and hygiene provider. Sourcing from a single supplier can have significant advantages in terms of product choice, simpler supply chains, access to expertise, support and cost control.

By choosing JohnsonDiversey as their cleaning partner, FM companies have access to world class products that deliver innovation, performance improvement and sustainability. These are backed up with the services and support that can only be delivered by an organisation with significant research, development, training and technical resources. The company works closely with individual customers and trade bodies such as the Cleaning and Support Services Association and the British Cleaning Council to ensure that it continues to understand and anticipate industry and market requirements and needs.

JohnsonDiversey offers a comprehensive range of building care products including chemicals, dilution control systems, floor care machinery, cleaning tools and support services. Customers all over the world are asking JohnsonDiversey to be their partner in developing sustainable solutions that deliver long term cost saving, performance improvement and environmental benefits to their business. The company’s goal is to practise sustainability in all aspects of its business and to help customers do the same in their own. This means delivering solutions that are simple and safe to use and based around excellence and innovation at every stage of the cleaning lifecycle. The result is sustainably lower levels of raw materials, packaging, waste, water, transportation and energy consumption with reduced lifetime costs.

JohnsonDiversey has been dedicated to leadership in sustainable environmental awareness since the company was founded in 1886. It was the first cleaning products company to eliminate CFCs from its aerosol products, many years before this became a legal requirement. The company was the first company in our industry to partner with the WWF Climate Savers Programme to address climate change by reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and it was the first business-to-business chemical manufacturer awarded the A.I.S.E. Charter for Sustainable Cleaning.

Products for all aspects of facility management are offered in a range of formats including ready-to-use, bulk and concentrates that provide customers with complete freedom of choice. JohnsonDiversey actively promotes the use of concentrates because these offer the best combination of performance, cost-in-use and sustainability. With concentrates, water is added at the point of use rather than the place of manufacture. The amount of product stored and transported in any given size of container covers considerably more cleaning jobs than conventional bulk or ready-to-use products. Transportation costs are up to 20 times less and warehouse and on-site storage requirements are up to 22 times less. There is less packaging which uses fewer natural resources and produces lower amounts of waste. Concentrates are good for sustainability.

Concentrates deliver the best performance and efficiency when used with one of JohnsonDiversey’s dilution or dosing systems. The company’s most recent innovation is the advanced QuattroSelect four-in-one dilution system. This is ideally suited to centralised contract cleaning operations on large sites where efficiency, consistency, sustainability and low overall cost in use are key requirements. The QuattroSelect cabinet accommodates four concentrated products that can be chosen from an extensive range for washroom, hard surface and floor cleaning. Users can dedicate a QuattroSelect cabinet to a specific operation or configure it with any combination of products from the available ranges for complete flexibility. Each product can be dispensed in different dilution ratios for filling any combination of trigger spray bottles at low flow rates and buckets and cleaning machines such as scrubber driers at high flow rates. Predetermined amounts of product and water are mixed automatically to deliver 100 per cent accurate dilution into the chosen bottle, bucket or machine. This eliminates product wastage and promotes consistent cleaning performance because there is no under- or overdosing. The result is excellent cleaning results and complete control over cost-in-use.

For general contract cleaning and building care, the new modular TASKI Trolley combines innovation and ergonomic design to improve overall performance, efficiency and sustainability. A complete set of tools and equipment is available so that the TASKI Trolley can be configured to support microfibre, spray-and-wipe, wet-mop and general cleaning applications. Six core configurations based around just two chassis models have been devised for the commonest cleaning applications. However, the modular concept allows customers to adapt these to a layout matched to their own unique requirement using the system’s range of complementary tools and equipment.

The TASKI Trolley has been designed from the ground up as a fully integrated system. It incorporates the latest ergonomic concepts to ensure all tools and equipment remain within easy reach so that users do not have to bend or stretch awkwardly. For example, mop boxes pop out of the side of the trolley and allow a fresh mop to be attached without bending or extra effort. The result is faster and more efficient overall cleaning processes with less time spent stopping and starting between tasks. Sustainability is enhanced because the TASKI Trolley can be used with tools that reduce reliance of chemicals. Using ultra microfibre tools from the Jonmaster range, for example, or spray-and-wipe products can reduce overall chemical consumption by up to 95 per cent.

Recent machine innovations include new models in the TASKI swingo range of scrubber driers that utilise significantly less water and energy than comparable equipment to deliver improvements in productivity, performance and sustainability. The new TASKI swingo 150 is an ultra-compact upright scrubber drier that is ideal for congested areas and daytime cleaning. It delivers the highest possible cleaning and hygiene performance and promotes safety by removing up to 99 per cent of the water and cleaning solution from the floor so that busy areas can be used immediately with reduced risk of slip-fall accidents.

The TASKI swingo 150 is part of an award-winning range of scrubber driers that combines innovation and high performance with sustainability to deliver new standards in professional cleaning. The compact, upright design takes up less room than other types of scrubber drier and it presents an effective and high performance alternative to conventional mop and bucket cleaning. In addition to general cleaning it is ideal for cleaning spillages and dirty spots which makes it suitable for emergencies and day-time cleaning. It can be used on all type of hard floors in confined and busy public areas such as shops, restaurants, washrooms, hotels, care homes, offices and schools.

JohnsonDiversey enhances its comprehensive offer with a range of technical, training and support services offered by JohnsonDiversey. The company has dedicated research and development facilities, laboratories and training centres that enable it to provide localised support through an international network of industry-leading expertise. Training can include everything from on-site teaching to show local staff how to complete a specific task or use their products and tools correctly, through to specialist sector support for managers and team leaders that explains more about the cleaning procedures, products and services.

The iMAP service, launched in the UK two years ago, is at the forefront of an exciting new era for the cleaning industry. It combines mobile technology, analytical tools, databases and sophisticated web-based management information applications to provide users with an unprecedented instantaneous audit view of their cleaning operations.

The iMAP service is a web-based global auditing solution that provides secure access to cleaning audit results and analysis anytime, anywhere and in almost any language. Data is collected in the field by JohnsonDiversey’s in-house team of auditors who visit the customer’s premises and use standard held-held mobile computing devices to collect information about the cleaning operation. The integration of mobile data and server based technology delivers speed and accuracy, and one of the first customers in the UK checked 200 sites in just three weeks. JohnsonDiversey is currently completing around 1500 audits every month for UK customers who can now monitor business-focussed metrics in real-time.
