Naval deal for Building & Property

Building & Property Defence (a subsidiary of Building & Property Group) has agreed an 11-year contract with Flagship Training Limited (FTL), a consortium which delivers naval and management training for the Naval Recruiting and Training Agency (NRTA). FTL is a consortium of Vosper Thorneycroft, British Aerospace and Johnson Controls.

Under the £100m contract, Building & Property Defence will be responsible for supplying and managing property maintenance services at six training sites in Portsmouth, Dartmouth and Plymouth. Services include day-to-day maintenance and repairs, lifecycle replacements and upgrades to existing facilities and equipment.

Sam Maroli, Managing Director of Building & Property Defence, said: "The contract draws many parallels with Prime Contracting where the consortium, Flagship, has sub-contracted services to Building & Property in order to meet the overall client specification efficiently, economically and on time. We will draw on this experience to develop the way in which we do business in the future."

Commenting on the announcement, Cliff Green, Commercial Executive at Flagship, said that "the signature of this contract was excellent news for all concerned."
