BMI signs up with European removal groups

Britannia Movers International (BMI), the UK’s largest independent removals group, has joined forces with four European removals groups to provide customers with a seamless, end-to-end service when they move homes to or from continental Europe. The companies are DMS Deutsche Mobelspedition GmbH & Co KG (Germany), Les Gentlemen du Demenagements (France), Mondial Movers (Netherlands) and Professionisti del Trasloco (Italy).

Arranging home moves for employees in Europe should become easier and cheaper due to the new co-operation. Operators will be able to save costs by running full trucks on both legs of a move and by reducing crew sizes because of the availability of depots, facilities, equipment and experienced staff at each end of a trip. BMI employs over 1,200 staff and operates more than 400 removal vans.

BMI’s chief executive John Court says the partnership means BMI can reduce costs, improve efficiency and offer uniform service standards for removals throughout continental Europe. He adds that BMI will extend its co-operation to include joint sales and marketing efforts and the establishment of common quality standards.
