Building & Property wins £40m Ministry of Defence contract

Building & Property Defence, a division of the Building & Property Group, is to provide Work Services Management (WSM) for the Ministry of Defence (MoD). The contract is worth more than £40m over a three-year period and will cover management and procurement of building maintenance services across 18 establishments.

The contract incorporates work which has previously been broken down into three separate contracts: Havant, Southampton and Andover. The start dates for these will be December 2000, February 2001 and March 2001 respectively.

Managing director for MoD business, Sam Maroli, said: "This contract is a great addition to our existing work with the MoD. The ‘Super Grouping’ of the three contracts into one is testament to the quality of Building & Property’s work on other MoD contracts and marks the move towards larger contracts groupings in the wake of Prime Contracts."

As a result of the agreement, 30 staff will be transferred to Building & Property under TUPE regulations.
