Catering and support services company Granada Healthcare Services has been awarded seven contracts worth £7m through competitive tenders. The contracts cover a range of facilities services such as catering, portering and security.

The company won a £2.5m a year contract with Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust to provide domestic support, accommodating 1,574 beds at five separate hospitals, employing 6,000 staff.

The remaining six contracts were awarded by the Central Sheffield University Hospitals Trust, Southampton Community Health Services NHS Trust, Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Trust, Black Country Mental Health NHS Trust, Wexham Park Hospital and the Manchester Children’s Hospital NHS Trust.

Sales director of Granada Healthcare Services, Sarah Avery, said: “We are delighted to have won so many new contracts, which collectively represent one of the largest business gains this year within our sector of the health industry. It is a testimony both to the quality of our people and the breadth of our service and also to our investment in the latest cleaning and facilities management technology.”
