Cushman & Wakefield appoints new executive VP

John B. Coppedge III has been promoted to executive vice president, International Operations for Cushman & Wakefield, where he will direct the firm's international operations from the New York City World Headquarters office.

Coppedge will collaborate with the company’s new president of US operations, Bruce E. Mosler, in serving the needs of the firm's multi-national clients. He will also work to increase the firm's market share, particularly in the emerging markets of Asia and South America.

Cushman & Wakefield president and CEO Arthur J. Mirante II said: "In the maturing global marketplace, John's global experience, vision and leadership will help guide us as we solidify our position as the global leader in real estate services."

Currently expanding its global presence, Cushman & Wakefield has opened 11 new offices and launched new operations in Japan and Argentina this year. Coppedge said the company opened these operations in anticipation of its clients' needs.

Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield in 1977, Coppedge served as broker, branch manager, regional director of Financial Services and managing director European/Asia Operations, and executive managing director, International Services.

He relocated to London in 1990 and was appointed director of European Operations with responsibility for the operation of Cushman & Wakefield's joint initiative with the UK-based firm of Healey & Baker. In 1994, Coppedge was also made responsible for Cushman & Wakefield's Asia Operation and from 1997 was based in Hong Kong. His responsibilities included the representation of a major US multinational corporation.

In 1998, Coppedge was appointed executive managing director of International Operations and relocated to New York. As such, he was heavily involved in the merger between Cushman & Wakefield and Healey & Baker. His responsibilities included Cushman & Wakefield's International Operations. Coppedge is a member of the Cushman & Wakefield Board of Directors as well as a member of the Healey & Baker Board of Management.
