ISS division ‘flies’ to Stansted with added services

ISS Airspeed has acquired Fernley Airport Services, previously owned by Swissport International AG, and has consequently moved into Stansted airport. The £20m turnover ISS Airspeed employs 1,200 staff at London Gatwick and Heathrow.

The company currently offers services such as specialist cleaning, lounge management, catering, portering, waste management, pest control, landscaping, valeting and warehouse management. It operates both airside and landside.

ISS Airspeed has reached the target set in the company’s vision statement, aim2002, to have 80% of staff employed full-time and multi-skilled.

Announcing the acquisition Gary Morby said: "We are very proud to have taken over responsibility for Fernley and its dedicated staff. We are committed to doing our utmost to develop and enhance the business.

"By adding Fernley’s complementary expertise to our existing capability we have taken another step to realising our objective of being a dedicated airport service provider," added Mr Morby.
