New contract for Danka

Danka Services International (DSI), part of Danka Business Systems, has won a three-year contract to provide reprographics services to Cambridgeshire County Council.

The contract was won within the Government’s framework for achieving best value for the procurement of services for local government. DSI was identified as providing best value and all departments within the Council will now be using DSI for reprographic services. DSI will also be involved in reviewing the provision of the Council's printing, photocopiers, and document management.

Technology and e-commerce were also key considerations in awarding the contract. DSI will be ‘reviewing the suitability of installing their innovative intranet ordering system,’ which would allow all users within the Council to order document production from their desktop via a web interface. This would streamline the whole process of document production, from the user’s perspective, bringing the production facility to the user rather than requiring them to physically take their documents to the production centre. From a production perspective, this system enables DSI to be completely flexible in determining the ultimate location for the document production, enabling the council to consider the transfer of production off site to free up valuable council office space.
