FM professionals converge on Glasgow

Glasgow will be the hub of the FM world this weekend as up to 1,000 facilities management professionals gather for World Workplace Europe, which runs until Tuesday 13th June. This unique event, organised jointly by the International Facility Management Association (IFMA), the British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM) the Centre for Facilities Management (CFM) and the EuroFM network, includes a conference, exhibition, debates, educational tours, social programme and an awards ceremony.

World Workplace opens with a keynote address from Andrew Neil, publisher with Press Holdings and Editor-in-chief of both the Scotsman and Sunday Business. Over 36 sessions are organised around 3 tracks - Performance, Progress and Policy – allowing attendees to take a personal route through the programme. Interactive sessions and forums hosted by EuroFM will maximise participation.

Key topics include contract management, e-commerce, benchmarking, PFI, healthy workplaces, office design and the intelligent customer. i-FM is a media partner to the event and is hosting linked topics on the Discussion Forum.

The exhibition, with over 45 stands, will showcase FM service providers and consultants, software suppliers, furniture and technology companies as well as publications, other information providers and professional bodies.

World Workplace is sponsored by Steelcase Strafor, MITIE Group, Aqumen, Ahrend, British Telecom, DBAssociates, Johnson Controls Inc., Peregrine Systems Ltd and Oce.
