New CEO at WS Atkins
Robin Southwell
Former BAE group managing director Robin Southwell is to join WS Atkins as its chief executive in April and Michael Jeffries, who currently holds the position, is to become the chairman. Sir Alan Rudge, chairman for the last three years, will retire at the end of March.

Robin Southwell has worked at BAE since 1981 and has held a number of senior appointments including chief executive of BAE’s business interests in
Australasia and more recently as group managing director of customer solutions and support.

CCommenting on the appointment, Michael Jeffries, said: "We are delighted that Robin is joining WS Atkins as Chief Executive. During his career at BAE, Robin has had a wide range of experience in the civil and military sectors and has worked extensively in Asia, Australia and the United States. His current position involves responsibility for the support and provision of specialist services to BAE customers around the world.

"This appointment is a very important step in the continuing implementation of our strategy to make WS Atkins the world’s first choice supplier of technical services and integrated solutions," he added.
