Steve Lee, a main board director of Citex and the man who took the Bucknall Group private through the buy-in-management-buy-out (or BIMBO) which created Citex in 1998, is to leave the company at the end of this month.

Lee will move to Brixton Investments Ltd, the main operating company of Brixton Estate plc, to head Customer Services Management and will work in tandem with Brixton's existing property and asset management team.

He will work alongside Peter Dawson, who remains responsible for the investment portfolio, Mike Andrews, who co-ordinates the joint ventures, and Chris Sheedy whose prime role is project management. Lee will also join them on Brixton's Executive Management Committee.

The four in-house property management professionals will continue to report to Dawson and Andrews. Steve Lee will co-ordinate the organisation of a fully integrated customer services and contracts management team charged with providing a range of additional offerings to Brixton's 700 tenants.

Brixton specialises in the south-east England industrial, warehouse and business space markets. It owns around 1.2m sq m (13m sq ft) of industrial and warehouse space. worth more than £1,200 million of its total £1,400 million portfolio.

Both companies are presenting the move as a continuation of a relationship which dates from 1985. Citex is one of Brixton's prime consultants on project management, development and quantity surveying.

Tim Wheeler, Brixton's Chief Executive, commented: "I am delighted that Steve has agreed to join Brixton. This is an important appointment and I believe Steve will play a significant role in our pursuit of excellence in both our established roles and in the expansion of our business into new areas through the enhancement of relationships with key occupiers."

Oliver Jones, Citex's Chief Executive added: "Steve's appointment is a natural development of the partnering arrangements between Brixton and Citex and is a major step in cementing our relationship with a longstanding customer. This move creates a new platform for our future association to develop. I wish Steve every success in his new role at Brixton."
