News: PFI tender for £23m hospital

Kingston Hospital NHS Trust is tendering a services contract for the design, finance, build and operation of a £23m extension to its Surrey hospital as well as a 27 year contract for the facilities management and building maintenance for the whole hospital site. The contract is considered to be suitable as a PFI or PPP.

The new development will house 80 beds for general surgery patients and 20 for gynaecology plus a physiotherapy department, kitchen, dining facilities and a training centre. It is expected to be fully operational by 2005.
