Sir
Ian Robinson, formerly chief executive of Scottish Power, has been appointed
to the Board at Amey as deputy chairman.
Welcoming the appointment, Brian Staples, chief executive of Amey, said:
“We are delighted that Sir Ian has agreed to join Amey’s Board.
Ian’s reputation speaks for itself and his immense experience will
prove invaluable in the implementation of Amey’s ongoing growth
strategy.”
Sir Ian has been chief executive of Scottish Power since March 1995,
during which time the company acquired Manweb and Southern Water. Prior
to joining Scottish Power, Sir Ian was chairman and managing director
of Trafalgar House’s Engineering Division which embraced John Brown,
Davy and Trafalgar House Offshore and commanded a turnover of £2.5bn.
