Contributors sought for services lifecycle work shops

Building Performance Group and NIFES Consulting Group are to provide workshops on the durability and reliability of plant building services and are looking for contributions from product manufacturers and trade bodies, maintenance contractors, building owners and managers. The first workshops, planned for February and March, will look at current research and test theoretical data against practical findings.

Project leader, Chris Bicknell, said: “This £140,000 project addresses the current lack of robust durability data in the mechanical and electrical sector and will be complete within the next two years. The demand for this data has been fuelled by Private Finance Initiative and Prime Contracting initiatives in the public sector and by calls for wider take up of whole life costing in both the public and private sectors. The success of this initiative and the value of its outputs will be highly dependent on industry’s willingness to contribute its expertise and data.”
