Chips with everything at Motorola?

Eurest Sutcliffe, a division of the Compass Group, has won a five year catering contract worth £11m with Motorola in Scotland, securing 90 jobs for Eurest Sutcliffe.

The company is to cater for 200 employees at Motorola’s Brucefield site and a further 4,000 employees at the Easter Inch site. The catering operation is to be open 24 hours a day every week and includes the provision of breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner and other snacks, vending services and hospitality facilities. The contract win follows the company’s Investors In People (IIP) award for its operations at the Easter Inch site in Bathgate.

Ian Park, Motorola's site services manager at the Easter Inch facility said: "We are delighted Eurest Sutcliffe has retained the contract and will continue to provide an effective, high quality service at both our sites in Scotland. We have formed a very strong relationship with the company and value the investment they have already shown in both operations.”

Alan Aitken, managing director for the Compass Group in Scotland and Northern Ireland also commented: “This is wonderful news for the company and of course, for the staff at both sites. We have worked hard to ensure we deliver an effective, competitive and comprehensive service to our clients. We have striven for excellence in all areas of the business including training for employees, customer care and dining innovation to name but a few. I am sure the operations at both sites will continue to be highly successful.”

l Last week, Eurest Sutcliffe was also chosen by British Energy and Sainsbury’s (see News story) to supply FM services. The seven-year British Energy contract is worth over £150m and the company believes it to be the largest FM contract awarded in the UK this year. The agreement includes 78 specialist services to British Energy’s 5,000 staff, from catering and vending, building maintenance and car hire through to telecommunications, library services and graphic design.
