New appointments at C&W Asia Pacific

To strengthen and expand the effectiveness of Cushman & Wakefield's Asia management team and to keep pace with the real estate services firm's new global business initiatives, C&W has appointed Michael J. Thompson as CEO, Asia Pacific and Nigel Bacon as president, Asia Pacific.

Thompson will be responsible for developing C&W's expanding regional business and will work to increase the company's market share in Asia Pacific while Bacon will focus on introducing the company's global new business initiatives to the Asia Pacific region, and on operations.

"C&W's client growth in Asia Pacific has been phenomenal and we don't intend to slow down. We have a talented team and we are committed to offering our clients world class service in this fast growing region of the world," said Thompson.

Prior to this appointment, Thompson was based in New Delhi and served as managing director of C&W India where he expanded the company’s services, market share, and presence in the region. In his new position Thompson will remain closely involved in the India operations.

Bacon added: "In the past five years, C&W has expanded its Asia Pacific reach to 28 offices in nine countries and more office openings and business initiatives are planned next year."

The two new appointments are effective as of January 1, 2001.
