New Contract Wins?

Haden Young and WS Atkins report million pounds business wins in FM; a summary.
Haden Young, the UK mechanical and electrical building services contractor, has secured further new orders in the healthcare sector, following on from its recently announced successes in the PFI market at Hereford and Nottingham.

These include the mechanical and electrical services for phase 5 of the redevelopment of the Blackpool Victoria Infirmary - a contract worth £3 million - and the mechanical services for the Law Hospital Carluke, near Glasgow - worth £3.1 million.

Further work has also been secured from House of Fraser for the new store at the Oracle Centre, Reading. The mechanical and electrical services contract is worth £3.4 million.

WS Atkins has been appointed by the Ministry of Defence as works services manager for the High Wycombe Group, which comprises command and control centres for NATO operations. It also provides WS Atkins the responsibility for maintaining the VIP airport at RAF Northolt. This contract is one of four recent successes - totalling some £25 million in fee value - for the WS Atkins newly launched Defence Services business.
The others are:

  • A three-year contract to supply a facilities management consultancy service to the Defence Housing Executive.
  • Work services manager for the garrison at Catterick.
  • Works services manager for the Brampton/Wyton Group
