Cushman & Wakefield wins Lucent FM

Cushman & Wakefield is to take responsibility for the UK and Netherlands portfolios of Lucent Technologies. The international real estate services firm will provide facility management, accounting and project management services covering around 204,000 sq m and 51 properties either owned or leased by Lucent in the two countries.

The portfolio will be managed from London. As reported on i-FM (see News story) Cushman & Wakefield's UK operation, Healey & Baker, has launched a major initiative in facilities management across Europe. In addition to the appointment of William Florence, previously with Deutsche Bank, as Head of Corporate Management, Michael Swanstrom transferred to London from C & W's Asset Services group in New York to work with corporate clients. Swanstrom will take charge of the Lucent portfolio.

"This represents a significant expansion of our relationship with Lucent, which has included international brokerage activities for many years," said Cushman & Wakefield President and CEO Arthur J. Mirante II: "It is anotherexample of a major multinational turning to a global real estate expert with the ability to provide the highest quality, fully integrated real estate services."
