Johnson Controls in Chinese joint venture

Johnson Controls Inc. has announced the formation of a joint venture with Hsin Chong Group to provide integrated facility management services in China, including Hong Kong and Macao.

The Hong Kong-based joint venture, Hsin Chong Johnson Controls IFM Ltd. (HCJCIFM), will bring together the experience and expertise of Johnson Controls with the local knowledge and resources of Hsin Chong Group, a construction and property services group. Initial clients include IBM’s manufacturing facility in Shenzhen, China, Sun Microsystems’ Hong Kong and China offices and Hsin Chong's corporate headquarters.

Robert Netolicka, President of Integrated Facilities Management, Johnson Controls, expects the partnership between Johnson Controls and Hsin Chong to accelerate Johnson Controls growth in China by combining the strengths of each company. He said: "With this joint venture, we will be able to offer clients the full scope of facility management outsourcing services that have been proven to reduce costs and improve return on investment for corporations across North America, Europe, Japan and other parts of the Asia Pacific region."

"We are delighted about our partnership with Johnson Controls, said Dr. Geoffrey Yeh, Chairman of Hsin Chong Group. "Outsourcing non-core functions has become a global trend among corporations, institutions and governments. Hsin Chong Johnson Controls IFM will meet market demands by providing integrated facility management services and customised solutions designed to deliver cost and operational efficiencies."
