"e-FM" this year’s topic for the FM Graduate of the Year Award

‘e-FM’ is the essay topic for entrants to this year’s FM Graduate of the Year Award, sponsored by Claremont Business Environments, with the backing of the British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM).

The Award aims to recognise the most outstanding FM student in the UK. The six universities currently running BIFM accredited courses have nominated entrants from amongst the post-graduate and masters students graduating in the current academic year. The entrants will be asked to submit an essay on the topic of "e-FM". The winner will be announced at a special function later this year, with the prize being an all-expenses trip to Steelcase Inc, USA.

Ann Inman, Associate Director, Marketing for Claremont, said: "The rapid growth of the e-commerce market and its impact on facilities management is a key issue now as the internet and electronic communications influence more and more aspects of the business world."

The FM Graduate of the Year Award was instigated by Claremont and the BIFM last year, when it was won by Colin Blair, Director of Estates & Facilities Management at the University of Huddersfield. He was nominated for the Award by Heriot-Watt University, where he gained a MSc in Facilities Management.

The six courses accredited by the BIFM can be found on i-FM’s training section
