Following the announcement that STEPS signed with Mapeley last month (see News story), the company has awarded the Eastern region to Coflex for seven years. The FM company will manage a range of projects from churn management to childcare at 130 buildings, covering a total 185,000 sq m (2m sq ft).

Commenting on the contract, worth £5m per year, account manager Sandra Constable said: “This is a very important piece of work for Coflex, and we are all committed to providing the very high standard of FM that both Mapeley and the Department expects.

“We have brought together a highly skilled management team and a great bunch of people and we are aware that we are under the spotlight to deliver and delight the client. We’re determined to make this a success.”
