Babcock International Group, together with Balfour Beatty Construction and WS Atkins, has been selected as one of the groups to receive the pre-qualification questionnaire (PQQ) for the Regional Prime Contract, for the facilities management of MoD property in Scotland.

The contract has been valued at £460m by the Defence Estates Organisation over the proposed life with an option for an extension to 10 years. The PQQ will be issued at the end of April and will lead to an invitation to tender in the autumn and a contract award in spring 2002.

The Scottish Region will be followed by four regional contracts covering England and Wales at a value between £550m and £750m.
