CD-ROM technology is about to find its way into your pocket, with the impending launch of electronic business cards.

. At least two enterprising IT companies have plans in hand to produce small-scale CD-ROM 'cards' that will combine all the usual contact details with pictures, animation, voice and even video.

Cost is rapidly falling away as a barrier, and, in addition to the novelty value, these cards have the benefit of presenting an easy link to further communication via email or company website.
