Stannah  Lift Services -  keeping the Nation’s lifts and escalators moving

Providing essential support to facilities professionals

Established in 1867, Stannah has supplied passenger and goods lifts in the UK for almost 150 years. During 2013 our lift engineers made more than 150,000 planned maintenance visits to over 88,000 lift products and answered a further 84,000 call-outs to locations right across the UK. Our 360+ highly trained lift engineers worked on over 140 modernisations of lift equipment, including escalators and moving walkways.

We look after all Network Rail lifts, manage stock for major retailers such as M&S and Gap, leading supermarkets - Sainsbury’s, Asda,Co-op to name just a few, universities, hospitals, housing associations , local authorities - even a ship or two!

Our major projects team take on huge projects in challenging environments, such as all the lift installations on Kings Cross Station, escalators and lifts for Birmingham New Street Regeneration Project and Edinburgh’s Waverley and Haymarket Station redevelopment.

Planned maintenance of lift stock - it makes sense
Lifts require regular servicing. Preventative maintenance will help to keep your lift in optimum condition, leading to fewer breakdowns, more reliable equipment, and in the medium to long term, lower running costs.

You and/or your company are responsible, under The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, for maintaining your lift/s in good and safe working order. You also have an obligation to have your lift thoroughly examined regularly by a competent person, who will inspect the lift with a view to safety and should advise you of any defects.
