Mike Williams, Managing Director - CDC Central Data Control Ltd

Mike is the founder of CDC. Initially, he qualified as a chartered building services engineer and later as a chartered accountant. 

He’s been involved in a wide range of projects including working as a concept designer for the 1NTEGER project, intelligent and green housing, featured in the Tomorrow's World series 'Dream House'. He has also been a systems integration and intelligent buildings delegate, sponsored by the DTI, to promote the UK construction industry and develop trade links between the UK and China in intelligent building design, with recent seminars in Beijing and Hong Kong. DTI also sponsored him to visit Japan to research the provision of TeleCare and TeleMedicine facilities. 

ESPRC funded two projects in which Mike acted as research partner. The two and three year projects, worth £3m and £5m respectively, involved addressing the house construction process and examining the ways in which technology can be deployed to assist in the care of aged and disabled persons in their homes.

He has also acted as integration consultant to British Trade International and the Hong Kong Government. Mike has championed the requirement for open systems integration through various committees including BSRIA, the BEMS Centre, British Council of Shopping Centres (BSCS Technical Services Committee), British Standards Institution Working Party on Standard for Integrated Systems, and the Integrated Building Control Project. He was also Treasurer, European Intelligent Building Group, and Secretary of the CIBSE Controls & IT Group

In addition, Mike has been involved in a large number of systems integrations projects at CDC and as an independent management consultant, covering the fields of information technology, systems integration, computers, energy and financial management.
