i-FM: The online resource for facilities professionals

Dave Wilson is a leading strategic international facilities consultant. In 2009, he and Lionel Prodgers established Agents4FM to meet the demand for credible International FM advice from large corporate buyers and providers of FM services. Agents4FM serves clients across EMEA, Asia Pacific and North America, and has subsidiary operations in the UK, Belgium, Denmark, Qatar, Dubai and Canada. Dave is also a Director of Agents4FM’s sister company, Training4FM, which provides FM and executive training and coaching globally.

Dave believes strongly that the role of FM is to make organisations more productive, not merely to manage buildings and assets. To this end, he uses his international experience advising companies like Reuters, O2, WPP, Verizon, and Cable and Wireless to create and apply FM strategy and change management techniques to promote excellence, applying a range of skills to identify opportunities and promote ownership of change within teams.

Like many in the industry, FM is Dave’s second career. He worked originally in the hospitality industry, having run his own hotel in Perthshire before his career led him to become Director of Catering for Hull City Council in the late `80s, before he moved into FM with CBX in 1995.

Well known in the profession through his service on the boards of BIFM, IFMA UK, EuroFM and IFMA Europe, Dave is an adviser to IFMA’s credentials development team and one of the European representatives on the IFMA Foundation Council for Academic Affairs. He was Deputy Chair of BIFM from 2008-09, and president of IFMA UK (now the BIFM International Special Interest Group) from June 2005 to 2007. He was Chair of the EuroFM Practice Network Group from January 2005 – December 2006.

Dave has a post-graduate Diploma in Management Studies and is a holder of the Certified Facility Manager designation from IFMA.
