Bill Heath, Managing Director - Macro International

Qualified as a civil engineer, Bill moved into FM in the early 90’s when he was appointed by Xerox to manage a major property development.

In 1994 Bill was instrumental in the BIMBO (management buy-in buy-out) and creation of CBX Limited. Under Bill’s leadership over the next four years CBX grew from 35 to nearly 300 people and a business with a turnover of approximately £70m. He was also instrumental in establishing a FM joint venture in Ireland.

In 1998 CBX was acquired by Sulzer and then in 2001 by Axima, both major European engineering organisations. As the corporate aspirations were not aligned to Bill's he left to join Bovis Lend Lease to head up their facilities division. His brief was to create a facilities operation that could compete in both public and private sectors, and support the ever increasing demands of Bovis’s PFI delivery.

In 2002 after a change of strategy at Bovis Bill left to form Mace Macro, along with a number of ex-CBX colleagues, the vision being to create a new forward-thinking company. Macro has grown rapidly and had a turnover of almost £41m in 2007.

Bill has recently become Chairman of Mace Macro Limited and Managing Director of Mace Macro International Limited which has been set up to develop a FM service offer in Dubai and wider Middle East.
