Alexi Marmot, Managing Director - AMA Alexi Marmot Associates Ltd

Alexi started her career in 1971 with various professional and academic appointments in architecture and town planning in London, San Francisco and Sydney.

From 1980 to 1986, she worked as a part-time lecturer in architectural and urban design at the Bartlett School of Architecture and Planning, University College London. Between 1984 and 1989 she was also director of DEGW Research and Consultancy in London.

She has co-authored the books "Office Space Planning: Designing for Tomorrow's Workplace" (New York: McGraw-Hill, 2000) and "Understanding Offices: What every manager needs to know about office buildings" (London: Penguin, 1995).

Alexi founded AMA Alexi Marmot Associates Ltd, workstyle and workplace consultants, in 1990 and acts as the company’s managing director.

A WORD OF ADVICE:

“My professional career has been helped enormously by a solid academic foundation in architecture and town planning from three universities. However, an even greater boost has been what I have learnt from working with committed clients, speaking to the people who use buildings, and the excellent team of people in AMA.”

A LITTLE KNOWN FACT:

Beneath Alexi’s professional, workaholic exterior lies a lazy Australian surfie, who is happiest riding the crest of a wave, especially when spending time with her husband and three children.
