Let's be honest - waste management has never found a place on the glamorous side of FM. Until quite recently, few practitioners would be found boasting that their remit included this particular support service.
But over the past couple of years waste management has begun to find its place on the corporate agenda - and it is climbing the priority list, thanks to its central role in a range of key concerns: cost control, sustainability, legislative compliance - to name a few.
For a great introduction to some of the basics, click here to read The FM's Guide to Waste, written by MITIE's expert, Mike Taylor. This is supplemented by a series reports and case studies, each with its own insights and lessons - see the list below.
And for a snapshot of the sector, including client priorities, contract preferences and service trends, see our latest 30-second survey.
